The score for the movie A Single Man, directed by fashion designer Tom Ford, and starring Colin Firth and Julianne Moore, is written by Abel Korzeniowski with additional music by Shigeru Umebyashi. The wonderful music has a dreamy, elegiac quality, with its lush strings and dramatic piano sequences, and beautifully complements the story of love and subsequent loss. It is truly beautiful music that gets better each time you play it and deserves a wider audience than it will actually get. It reminds me of the score for The Hours by Phillip Glass, but I think I can honestly say this is the best soundtrack I've heard in many years and I would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone.

This is the most beautiful and haunting piece of music, wonderfully put together. After watching the movie which was so so, I could'nt wait to get the CD and it lived up to my memories and expectations.
Lots of classical instrumentals, very soothing and then a couple of jazz type classics.

I bought this because we were still talking about the sound track weeks after seeing the film. It really is part of the 'A Single Man' experience.

A very well produced and arranged album that stands up well even beyond the film. It tracks the same time line as the film and so conjurers wonderful atmospheres without being repetitive.

A truly atmospheric sound track that makes great listening in its own right.

Great movie, great soundtrack...

After years of purchases from Amazon and Amazon Market Place this was the first fake that's come my way... CD cover is a colour photocopy and some tracks have jumps in first few bars then they start again. Biggest giveaway is perhaps the inclusion of a couple of tracks not on the 'proper' soundtrack disc. (Such as 'Green Onions'). So beware if you're buying this soundtrack.....
