I must admit I received this CD before seeing the film and wasn't sure if I liked them. But I have literally just got back from seeing the film and they are instantly a hit. You can relate the songs to whats happening in the film and they are slightly more serious! The film follows a similar pattern and the songs tell the usual story e.g Now or Never is the basketball game and the team are struggling especially Troy. I Want It All is a Ryan and Sharpay duet. The Boys Are Back is especially good in the film as well as the song, great dancing and beaty number. Scream is the new Bet On It with Troy getting angry! High School Musical is the grand finale just like All For One. All in all the film is great and seems to definitely signify the end so whether rumours of a forth is true or not, this film didnt seem to show any signs of another, it seemed pretty final. The soundtrack will grow on you just like all the others. Definitely has to be added to the High School collection!

After watching the film, I wasn't sure whether I really liked the songs. After the first listen, I promise almost anyone who isn't listening in a public place will sing along when the songs come 'round again.
The songs have great lyrics, which are easy to remember and catchy. The actual songs are also really well written.
The best songs are probably "Now or Never", "I Want It All" and "The Boys Are Back"

I loved the soundtrack and had learnt the songs before i saw the film i waited until it came out on dvd i never got to the cinema. The songs make more sence once you see the film and were all as good as the other 2 soundtracks and a little bit more grown up

What a great album. Liked by both my children (3 and 5) and me too!
Sure hit for keeping them entertained. My two like to listen in the car or in their rooms on CD player acting out the dance routines! So something keeping them active and entertained. Go for it.
